Welcome to the Valuation Office information page for Clare County Council ratepayers. This section of the website will keep you informed of Valuation Office activity in your Local Authority area.
The Valuation Office is the State property valuation agency. Our core business is the valuation of commercial and industrial property for commercial rates purposes. In conducting our business, we interact regularly with a wide range of stakeholders including ratepayers and other members of the public, local authorities, professional agents acting on behalf of ratepayers or other clients, genealogical researchers and genealogical agents, and staff of other Government Departments and Offices.
You may access a number of online services relating to your Local Authority from the toolbar to the left on this page e.g. track your revision application or an appeal, check property valuations online and review our FAQs.
All local authorities are being revalued under a National Revaluation Programme which is well underway. To date, revaluation has been completed in Dublin City Council, Fingal, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, South Dublin, Limerick City and County and Waterford City and County rating authority areas. The next stage of the programme, commencing in November 2015, will result in the revaluation of commercial and industrial properties in Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Longford, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, South Dublln and Westmeath County Councils. The project is called "Revaluation 2017" as all ratepayers in these areas will receive their final Valuation Certificates in 2017 effective for rates purposes from 2018 onwards.
Clare County Council ratepayers will be the subject of a revaluation in due course.
Prior to the Valuation Office conducting a revaluation of your Local Authority area a consultation process will take place between the Commissioner of Valuation, The Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government and the Local Authority.
In addition to rolling out the national Revaluation programme the Office continues to deliver an on going Revision programme.
