Valuation Office Publishes Practice Guidance Notes
Last updated at 15:33 on 20/10/2017
The Valuation Office is in the course of developing and publishing an extensive range of Practice Guidance notes covering the valuation of various categories of rateable property. A number of these documents are available for view and download here. Guidance covering additional categories of property will be added shortly and further Practice Guidance notes will be published and updated as the need arises.
Practice Guidance Notes are published as an aid to occupiers of rateable property and their professional advisers. The purpose of the Practice Guidance Notes is to set out the statutory basis for valuation of the property, the information required to value that particular category of property, and the method of valuation used by the Valuation Office in valuing that class of property.
The Practice Guidance Notes have been prepared in consultation with the Joint Rating Forum operated by the Valuation Office and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI).
